Battery Health, Measured
— Not Guessed.

Know what your battery can actually deliver before you repair, replace, buy, or sell. Controlled external testing documents usable capacity without opening the pack.

Professional controlled-load testing

What’s really left in your battery?

A display can show full while an aging lithium battery stores substantially less energy than it did when new. A voltage reading alone cannot show how many watt-hours the battery can actually deliver.

Sprocket Science uses a RIGOL DL3021 programmable DC electronic load to discharge a serviceable battery at a controlled rate, record its performance, and stop at defined voltage, capacity, or time limits.

Useful evidence before a decision

Buy, sell, diagnose, or establish a baseline.

The service is useful even when nothing is visibly broken.

  • You are buying or selling a used e-bike or e-scooter
  • Range is lower than it used to be
  • The battery percentage drops unusually quickly
  • The machine loses power earlier than expected
  • You need evidence to separate battery capacity loss from another fault
  • You want a measured baseline to compare with a future test

Your test report

Real measurements—not “battery good.”

Where the battery and available specifications support it, the report documents what was tested, how it was tested, the measured result, and the technician’s observations.

Measured usable capacity

Ah / mAh delivered during the controlled discharge

Measured energy

Usable Wh delivered by the battery

Discharge time

How long the battery supplied the programmed load

Voltage behaviour

A voltage trace throughout the controlled test

Capacity comparison

Measured capacity compared with a known manufacturer nominal rating

Original evidence

Test settings, data, graph, observations, and test date

Capacity comparisonMeasured Wh ÷ Rated Wh × 100

Reported as measured capacity compared with the manufacturer’s nominal rating—not certified state of health or a guaranteed lifespan prediction.

Charger Output & Load Test

Test the charger under a controlled load.

A no-load voltage reading is useful, but it does not show whether a charger can maintain appropriate output under load. For compatible conventional chargers, Sprocket Science can record label details, polarity, no-load output, controlled loaded voltage/current, regulation, temperature observations, and abnormal behaviour.

With a battery test$39

Standalone charger test$59

Battery history in Benchwise

Compare the same battery over time.

A repeat test creates a useful trend only when it is tied to the same documented battery and uses a safely reusable prior test profile and connection method.

If the battery, connection, or safe test profile cannot be confirmed, the standard test starting at $89 applies. Reminder messages are consent-only.

Clear safety and accuracy limits

Measure what is safe. Stop when it is not.

  • The battery pack remains sealed. Sprocket Science does not open, rebuild, modify, spot-weld, or repair lithium battery packs.
  • Measured capacity is a current condition indicator—not an exact prediction of months or years remaining.
  • A capacity report is not a battery certification, a guarantee of future performance, or a declaration that a battery is safe.
  • Testing is declined when physical damage, swelling, heat, water intrusion, odour, unsafe wiring, or another stop condition is present.
  • The RIGOL DL3021 is limited to 150 V, 40 A, and 200 W as separate maximum ratings. Test current is set from the battery voltage, equipment power limit, connector rating, and an appropriate operating margin.
  • Controlled capacity testing does not reproduce the full peak current of every motor and controller system.

Know your battery before you buy or sell

Turn the battery gauge into evidence.

Send the battery label, charger label, machine make and model, and what you want to learn. Sprocket Science will confirm whether the battery and charger can be tested safely before arranging intake.
