E-Bike Repair
that starts with evidence.

Electrical diagnostics and practical mechanical service for many hub-drive, throttle-equipped, and direct-to-consumer e-bikes.

An NCM e-bike positioned inside the real Sprocket Science workshop for inspection and service

Independent diagnostics-first service

Find the fault before replacing parts.

An e-bike problem can involve power, controls, wiring, sensors, brakes, drivetrain, or several systems at once. Sprocket Science follows the symptoms, tests what is accessible, and explains the evidence before recommending a repair.

Common reasons riders contact us

Start with what the machine is doing.

You do not need to name the failed part. Symptoms, timing, error codes, and photos are more useful starting points.

  • E-bike will not power on
  • Motor cuts out or surges
  • Display shows an error code
  • Throttle or pedal assist does not respond
  • Brake cutoff keeps the motor disabled
  • Charging, wiring, or connector concern
  • Hub-motor wheel has a flat tire
  • Brakes, chain, shifting, or steering need service

Clear boundaries

Many machines welcome. No blanket promises.

  • KT-style systems and Bafang conversions are assessed case by case; exact wiring, configuration, documentation, parts, and tooling must support the work.
  • Bosch, Giant, Shimano, and other proprietary systems may require manufacturer or dealer software that is not currently available here.
  • Lithium battery packs are not opened, rebuilt, modified, spot-welded, or repaired.
  • Unsafe, structurally compromised, heavily modified, undocumented, or unsupported machines may be declined after review.
